Review: Lick

LickLick by Kylie Scott

5 out of 5 Licks

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure as hell never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hang-over to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.
One this is for certain, being married to rock and roll’s favourite son is sure to be a wild ride.

I ADORED this book! I read it in one sitting, and its not a short one. This hooked me from the first page with the characters quirky inner dialog. Its told from Evelyn’s (Ev) point of view. It was just a fun and fast read. I loved both the main characters, they had very strong personalities and very relatable flaws and insecurities. Ev is mostly still a virgin and pretty much a good girl. She always tries to do what her parents wants and please people. But she is a fighter and I love that she still is a strong woman and will fight for her beliefs. David is a rock god who is battling his demons and has a lot of trust issues to work through. There was such great chemistry and heat between them, you couldn’t help but to root for them. I also really liked exploring Ev’s “firsts”. Her one and only sexual experience wasn’t a good memory for her so she was wary of sex but wanting to try again and David was so sweet and delicious. He’s the brooding bad boy you just have to love and comfort. This does take you on an angsty ride but it was so worth it. I can not wait to read more in this series. Ms. Scott just makes you connect with these characters and sucks you in. Very hot read!!! Lots of sex but still a great story to back it up!
