5 out of 5 Licks
High school teacher Erica Shannon isn’t a one-night stand kind of girl. Pair that with an aversion to relationships, and she’s resigned to no love life at all. Then one horrifying discovery propels her off her take-no-risks path, and into the arms of the stars of her midnight fantasies.
When his friend and fellow firefighter threatens to make a move on Erica, Corey figures he’d better get over the notion that she’s way out of his league—fast—before he has to get in line.
Griff never thought he’d get the chance to introduce Corey to the combustible delights of multi-partner play, until he senses the sheer volume of sexual energy surging beneath Erica’s repressed exterior.
A blazing night of passion has unexpected consequences. Corey is surprised to discover the woman of his dreams, and that he doesn’t mind sharing her—or himself—with Griff. But Griff finds his heart pulled down a romantic path he vowed he’d never venture again.
Erica? She’s got a problem on her hands. Hold two, hardwired-to-rescue firemen at arm’s length—and away from her heart—until she’s fought and won a battle that may well destroy her.
Warning: One tortured woman and two hunky Aussie firemen indulging in three-way love. Scenes of the male/female, male/male, male/male/female and the male/female/male variety (whew!). Also includes anal sex, mild spanking, cussing, phone sex, fire trucks and tearjerker moments.
In “Erica’s Choice,” by Sami Lee, two sexy firefighters – Dale Griffin (aka. Griff), the tough, take-charge alpha, and Corey Wachawski, the younger, bigger-than-life, sweet beta – have their eyes set on Erica Shannon. Erica is the serious, “good girl,” High School English teacher, who has been burned by love, in the past. The story begins with a steamy car ride home and takes off from there.
The sex is incredibly hot, as the three learn what the others like. However, a deep emotional bond develops as part of, and in addition to, the sexual connection among all of them. The experiment at keeping things “casual” fails miserably as their feelings for each over change and grow over the course of the story. They are forced to face these feelings in a real, painful and tangible way, as they realize it could all be taken away, in a gut-wrenching event that will have you reaching for the tissues.
Attention to detail is difficult to achieve when there are three partners in a relationship. Ms. Lee develops each, such that the reader feels the growing ambivalence within of each of them, as they figure out where they stand in the triad. Juggling each personality can be hard, but each confronts his/her deepest fears and desires. As they do, they open themselves up to be hurt, but also to the possibility of something greater. The plot is well developed, and the sex scenes build in closeness and intensity as Erica, Corey and Griff become intertwined.
Pam, a fellow teacher and Erica’s co-worker is the voice of reason. She is a supportive secondary character, who advises Erica to be honest about herself to Corey and Griff. Pam deserves her own happily ever after, in my opinion.
“Erica’s Choice” features f/m/m, m/f/m, m/f and m/m scenes, so be sure you have plenty of batteries or someone to help you take the edge off, people.
