Steamwork Chronicles Book 3

A brilliant researcher, Sofia must unravel the ancient puzzle of the Clockwork Warrior or her career will be in tatters. Yet the tomb of the warrior is in the dangerous city of Byzantium, inside the harem of the Emperor. She knew she’d have to pose as a slave–but not that her “owner” would be the incredibly bossy, gorgeous bodyguard she’s been assigned.

A life of military duty has left Dankyo unprepared for Sophia. He’s never met a woman quite like this. She’s smart and beautiful, and she’s something that he’s finding almost irresistible–despite the way she fights against masquerading as his slave, she’s submissive right down to the bottom of her soul. And that’s bringing out every dominant instinct in his body.

But even as he realizes she’s captured his heart, the city explodes into madness. Surviving seems impossible. Can love and a Dom who will never give up overcome sheer bloody-minded evil?

Dankyo is back from the first book in the series and has been exploring his kinky side since we last met.  Now he is sent on a mission with the lovely Sophia and he sees her submissive tendencies showing.  Sophia is a puzzle solver and has been studying the Clockwork Warrior and believes she now is ready to solve this ancient puzzle.  Wanting to secure her future with a job from the government and prove her worth to her father she will do anything, be anything to travel to Byzantuim.  The only way Sophia can get into the country of Byzantuim is by pretending to be Dankyo’s slave.  The close quarters and the attraction between these two ensures they won’t be pretending long.

I must admit this is a sad day for me as this is the last book in this series, and I am already missing this clockwork world.  With each book this world became more exciting and vivid, down to the smallest of clockwork animals.  The story is action packed, assassins, spies and intrigue keep you reading into the early hours of the morning with the ultimate goal of finding out who or what the mystery behind the clockwork soldier is.  Dankyo is a sexy dominant that opens a whole new world to Sophia, she becomes his slave and learns that she loves to be controlled and taken by this man any way he wishes and trust me she is, a sexy read with plenty of kink, and regardless of what anyone else thinks she loves belonging to him.  I love this series and whether or not Cari Silverwood plans to write anymore in this series, I plan to visit this clockwork world again and again.
