Let’s Have a Contest!

I’ve had a year full of ups and downs.  We’ve officially been in Houston for a year now and the whole family is so much happier.  It’s not all perfect, but it is a lot better!  🙂  I had a lot of medical setbacks this year but I have a few (yes a few lol) diagnoses now and am receiving treatments.  I also joined a gym and started working out.  I’d love to lose weight, but I’m mostly doing it for my overall health.  Working out will help with the arthritis pain. I’m looking forward to a healthier me next year.

There are so many events going on near me that I was able to go to several signings this year.  The highlights were Wild Wicked Weekend in San Antonio and RT in NOLA.  I’ll be doing both conventions again next year and I can’t wait!  I got to see several of my friends and made some new ones.  You know who you are.  If you’ve seen me at conventions you probably won’t believe it, but I’m actually pretty shy.  I don’t have a lot of friends close to me so I always enjoy the times when I get to see my crew.  I love you all!!

I thought giving stuff away would be a great way to celebrate the end of the year.  One lucky person will receive a bunch of books from my giveaway shelves (some signed of course) and a ton of swag.  If the winner happens to live outside the US I will substitute with a $20 gift card to Amazon or B&N or somewhere else if you want.  lol Click the link below to see how easy it is to enter!  You never know I may even add extra prizes if there are a bunch of entries.  😉

Thanks for helping 2014 be a wonderful year.  I’m looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings.

So glad you’re on the road to better health, Kitty. Am sorry I’m going to miss you at RT in Dallas :(((((, but I’ll still be bothering you on social media lots. LOL.

    • You are not allowed to talk about not being at RT! I’m still in denial. This will be my first RT with none of my Aussie gals there. 😦

Something good that happened this year is we finally learned what was wrong with my 7 year old. We knew since he was 2 or 3 that there was something up with him. We found out that he is severely dyslexic (does not even qualify for pre-school level on recognizing letters and forget about reading simple words) and border line autistic. The autism doesn’t change anything. We just have to pay attention to him and his surroundings to keep him from falling across the line. The dyslexia diagnosis opened a world of possibilities in how he is taught want he wants – to be able to read.

I helped my sister through her first pregnancy this year, threw her a baby shower, and welcomed my first niece into the world 🙂 She is adorable and the most perfect little addition to my year! Thanks for the giveaway!

I completely understand the medical problems. In one day, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, myositis (inflammation of muscles) and fibromyalgia! What a day, lol. But at least now I am taking meds to help with the pain and everything. If I could just find something to help me with the fatigue, that would be great **grins**

This year, I have lost over 50 lbs while getting much healthier! I have been eating better (ususally, lol) and exercising as much as my illnesses allow.

Thanks so much for the giveaway, Kitty Kelly 🙂

  14. KK,
I so totally understand the medical issues. I am still in a depressive cycle, and I am in search of answers of the pain in my left side. But, I have much to be grateful for and am greatly blessed. Heather is doing fairly well, Edward is doing well in Scouts and school, and David still has a job. You and my other book friends/fiends have supported me when others have not. You just don’t realize how much it helps and gives me hope. Now to get you out my way some time ever…. LOL

Thank you for the Contest sweets!!!! ❤

  15. What a nice giveaway. Glad to hear you have a diagnosis on medical issues.

  18. Mina Gerhart

Glad to hear your on the way to good health Kitty, so sorry for your loss Lori.
I’ve had a pretty much up year, I had a partial thyroidectomy due to “unusual growths” on it. the growths turned out to be benign & I was able to return to singing (my second? favorite non-eating activity 😉 ) and even did 2 solos with my community choir. It turned out I don’t even need thyroid meds -yippee. I’m also losing weight, working out & counting down my last 11 months till…RETIREMENT!. I’ll have 34 years & odd months as a state employee working with developmentally challenged people who aren’t ready for community placement yet.

Thanks for the cool contest Kitty & Merry Christmas to all 8D
    Mindy 🙂

2014 has been good & not so good, but I am determined to make 2015 a better year. 🙂 I was able to take a 3 day trip to the St. Louis area, visited a winery and brought back some excellent wine. I also got the chance to see the David Bowie exhibit in Chicago. It was really impressive. This summer by best friend came up from AZ and we spent aome quality time going to the Taste of Chicago (food fest) and just hanging out. All in all the good times outshined any of the negative.

  20. I am trying to lose weight. In 3 1/2 months I have lost 23 lbs

  21. Cannot wait for 2015..it will the year of change and good things!!!

  22. I also had health issues this year but we currently have them under control (knock on wood!). Finally getting a diagnosis makes a world of difference. It gives you a place to plan and work from.

  23. Sounds like I’m not alone with the medical issues. I hope everyone seeking medical help is able to find answers or at least some relief. I love reading all the wonderful things that have happened over the last year. One of my goals for 2015 is to try to notice all the good things that happen. I know they outweigh the bad, but sometimes it’s hard to remember the good when going through a rough patch. Thanks everyone for your comments and I’m looking forward to more fun on The Smutty Kitty in the new year!!
