Review: Protecting Fate

PF Protecting Fate by Katee Robert

4 out of 5 Licks

Fixer Sara Reaver is furious when she discovers that she’s not only been exiled to the country for her own safety, but she’s been assigned a bodyguard. Zebadiah “Z” Loreto may be her brother’s best friend, but he’s also one big, bad, and very sexy wolf of a man…and Sara’s determined to make him come out and play.

And oh, Z wants to play. But Sara Reaver is definitely off-limits and Z promised himself never to unleash his dark desires ever again. Still, he can see that she craves the harsh and sensual hand of control.

It will mean crossing professional and personal boundaries. Breaking their own rules. And they’ll both discover just what happens—for good or bad—when they relinquish complete control…

I am so glad I read Katee’s first book in the Serve series.  I really enjoyed Sara’s story.  I’m still not 100% sure what her job as fixer means but it landed her in some really hot water this time.  She finds herself being swept into protection by Z.  The first encounter between the two of them at Serve is full of sexual tension and I was surprised when Z just walked out.  It was no surprise that when they finally do hit the sheets, they nearly burn the house down.  The sex between them is full of kink and awesomeness.  While I did really enjoy this one I felt like it kind of fizzled out toward the end.  I was expecting something to happen with the people she pissed off but that just kind of fell to the wayside.  There was some drama toward the end, but it wasn’t what I was expecting to happen.  I’m really looking forward to checking out more books from Katee.  She is definitely going on my must buy list.
